Today’s headlines are shouting “Creativity is declining”. Other news networks are reporting the growing need for “Thinkers and Innovators”. Young children are some of the most creative people in the world. How can we provide a nurturing place that will support and encourage young creative thinkers? How can opportunities be included that allow children to think in different ways: visually, scientifically, verbally, musically, and kinetically. Investigate the 4 C’s identified as the critical skills for the 21’st Century: Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, and Critical thinking. Celebrate the work, ideas, and projects of young children as you gain an appreciation for their creative capabilities. Gain insight into ways to extend experiences of young children that will support their learning while encouraging creative thinkers for today and the future.
