The Decline of Creative Thinking: What Can We Do in the Early Childhood?

Today’s headlines scream that “creativity is vanishing” in the United States.  At a time when more creative ideas are needed to deal with challenging issues, there is less support for the development of creative thinkers.

With the increase of testing and the push for the “right answer” we are missing the critical opportunity to develop our innovators, creators, artists, collaborators, and thinkers.  Early Childhood is the place to inspire our creative young children!

If we provide a nurturing environment, the materials, and the appropriate opportunities young children will be able to build on their creative capabilities. Only then—- they will be ready for the challenges that exist now and in the future.
